My mom is the strongest person I know. She’s a single mom to me and my younger brother Landon (12), and she works incredibly hard as a Pre-K teacher at an all-boys school. Since August, she’s had to face an overwhelming challenge: her retina has detached multiple times, and she’s now preparing for her third retina surgery this Friday. Just two weeks ago, she had her second surgery, but her retina detached again, and now we’re back to square one. Through all of this, she continues to be a kind and wonderful friend, always cheering others on and doing everything with a smile on her face, even when things are tough.
The costs are adding up quickly. We need help covering surgery expenses, doctor appointments at Mass Eye and Ear in Boston, and the special face-down vitrectomy equipment she needs for recovery after each surgery. On top of that, she’s had to take time off work, which makes things even harder for our family. My mom is always the first to help others, and now I hope she can receive some of that kindness in return.
If you’re able to help in any way, it would mean so much to us. Your support will help ease her stress so she can focus on healing and hopefully regaining her sight. Thank you for reading our story and for any help you can give.
