My mom has spent her life helping others. For many years, she worked as both an EMT and a nurse, dedicating herself to saving lives and caring for people in their hardest moments. She was the one who showed up when others needed her most — and now, she's the one who needs help.

This past year, my mom's health has declined drastically. She has been in and out of the hospital and has been intubated four different times. Because of her condition, she hasn't been able to work, and the constant hospital stays and medical bills have been overwhelming for our family.

Her pulmonologist here, Dr. Kaplan, believes her best chance at improving her health is through further testing and possible bronchial thermoplasty treatments at National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado, with one of the best lung specialists in the country. Right now, her exact medical condition is still unknown, and she needs specialized testing to finally get answers. Each potential procedure costs about $15,000, and she may need multiple treatments, along with the added costs of travel, lodging, and ongoing care.

This is more than we can handle alone, which is why I'm asking for help. My mom spent years taking care of strangers without hesitation, and now she deserves that same compassion in return.
