I’m reaching out from the bottom of my heart to ask for your support. My mother has been diagnosed with a meningioma, a type of brain tumor that is pressing against her optic nerve. As a result, she’s already experiencing blurred vision—and doctors have warned that if left untreated, the tumor could lead to permanent vision loss and other serious complications.

She is scheduled for surgery on August 13, but we are facing significant financial barriers that could prevent her from getting the care she needs.

In a heartbreaking turn of events, both my mom and stepdad recently lost their jobs, which also meant losing their health insurance. Her current coverage is set to expire this August—just days before her surgery date. We’ve already been hit with a $6,000 bill for some MRIs to identify the location of the tumor that wasn’t covered by insurance, and we’re anticipating additional medical costs leading up to and following the operation.

We are doing everything we can to apply for assistance and explore other resources, but time is not on our side. This surgery is critical, and we can't afford any delays.

To make this even more difficult, my mom is my last remaining parent. I’ve already lost one, and the thought of something happening to her is unbearable. She means everything to me. Watching her go through this while being unable to fully help on my own has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced.
