If you know anything about me, then you probably know my mom. She has sacrificed everything to support me and my sister, always putting our needs before her own. My mom is a beautiful, sweet woman of faith who has been my rock and greatest supporter throughout my life.
Growing up in poverty, my mom never had access to proper dental care, and things only worsened when she became pregnant, leading to significant dental health issues. A particularly damaging experience with a dentist, who created a hole in her jaw during a tooth removal and then disappeared, set off a chain of painful and costly complications. Despite our family using our health and life savings to fund numerous surgeries and dentures, a critical oversight by another dentist—who failed to recognize that her mouth couldn’t support dentures—has left her unable to eat normally. We’ve explored every possible solution, but her health continues to decline, and she’s lost a significant amount of weight. Her doctors have made it clear that the core issue is the need for a zygomatic implant, which our insurance refuses to cover, deeming it a cosmetic procedure. She’s become deeply insecure about herself and I hate watching it ruin her life. This situation has drastically changed our lives, with mounting financial strain and her health rapidly deteriorating, leading to depression and illness. Her doctor has recently put her on new medications and informed us that her health is declining severely and that we should really try to get the surgery or else it could get worse. I hate asking for money ever, but if you know anyone who could donate, it would help tremendously. She loves to spread the gospel and paint, and she’s completely lost her light. My dad and I can’t afford her surgery, as much as we’ve saved for it. Any support—whether through donations or sharing this fundraiser—would mean everything.
