Help my Mom regain her life

Update May 2023.........It's been a while so let me do a recap of events. The divorce is still in a stalemate. STILL! The criminal case that went "nowhere" well it's biting us in the butt currently. He's suing my mom for malicious prosecution and bills for attorney fees are racking up fast. The fees are just going to continue unfortunately because the divorce still needs to happen.

Please help in anyway you can. I can't handle the fact that my mom feels defeated. She's a good person, a wonderful mother and now a fantastic grandmother. We had no idea it would cost so much just to getaway from an abuser.

Hi my name is Mallory Coleman and my mother MaryKay is going through.....well she's trying to finally divorce and move on from 30 years of an abusive husband. The divorce proceedings have not gone well to say the least and the lawyers fees are piling up.

In January this year, the abuse turned physical. I had to go save and shelter my mom and her two dogs because their safety was in jeopardy. Many times before I would go out to rural Shelton from Tumwater to play mediator for my mom and soon to be ex stepdad. I'm lucky that the physical abuse didn't amount to a hospital stay, as that was his hope/scream as the police were taking him away. Unfortunately the criminal case went no where and now the actual divorce is being drawn out by unnecessary litigation. Now 8 months later and actual divorce proceedings have yet to begin. 

My mom just wants to start a new life away from the destruction that this man has caused emotionally and physically to both of us.
