Help My Mom Fight Malignant Melanoma

Donation protected
Hi, everyone. My name is Quincy, and I am reaching out today to share my mom’s story and ask for your support during one of the hardest times in her life.

My mom, Kathy, has always been the strongest, most selfless person I know. For over 16 years, she’s dedicated herself to her work as a house cleaner, never taking holidays or breaks because she knew her income was what kept our family afloat. She’s always put others first, but now she’s facing a battle that requires her to ask for help.

This isn’t the first time my mom has faced malignant melanoma, the deadliest and most dangerous form of skin cancer. Back in 2016, she was diagnosed for the first time. She had two surgeries to remove the cancer along with two lymph nodes, and after countless scans, we finally got the news we prayed for—she was cancer-free.

She went through that first battle quietly, not wanting to worry anyone, especially me. I was still young then, and she powered through her treatment and surgeries without missing a single day of work, just to make sure we were provided for.

But now, the cancer has returned, and this time it’s much more aggressive. Despite asking her doctor for 15 months to examine a concerning spot, the referral came too late, and now there are multiple tumors. We’re bracing ourselves for a harder fight, one that will involve 24 months of treatments, travel for scans and appointments, and most likely more surgeries.

The financial toll is already overwhelming. As a single-income household, losing work means losing stability, and the costs of cancer treatment add up so quickly.

We know this is an especially difficult time to ask for help. The Christmas season is already a stressful time for so many, and we weren’t expecting to have to face something like this right now. But anything you can give—whether it’s a donation, a share of this post, or a kind word of encouragement—would mean the world to us.

We’re trying to raise $20,000 to get her through the first few months of treatment.

Donations will go toward:
- Travel costs for treatment and scans
- Bills and everyday expenses while she can’t work so she can focus
on healing

Thank you for being here for my mom, for me, and for our family. We are so grateful for any support you can give during this difficult time.

With love and gratitude,
Quincy
