Hello everyone,
My name is Kandace and I’m reaching out on behalf of my incredible mother, Vicky, who has recently been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma, a devastating form of cancer. This news has turned our world upside down, and as we begin this battle, we are asking for support from friends, family, and anyone with a kind heart willing to help. She has been through so much already in her life, specifically this being her 3rd type of cancer in her lifetime! First cervical cancer, then Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and now adenocarcinoma of the lung that has metastasized throughout her body so quickly and aggressively.
Over the coming months, my mom will need extensive medical treatment, including: hospital stays, imaging, specialist appointments, and ongoing cancer care. In addition to fighting the cancer itself, she now depends on home oxygen to breathe comfortably and requires several costly medications, including Eliquis, which is critical in preventing dangerous blood clots in relation to her sporadic AFib RVR and pericardial effusion.
Unfortunately, even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs are overwhelming, and the last thing I want is for my mom to worry about finances when she should be focused on healing.
We are humbly asking for donations to help cover:
Hospital bills and treatment expenses
Home oxygen equipment and supplies
Life-sustaining medications, including Eliquis
Transportation to and from treatments
General support while she is unable to work during this fight
No amount is too small, every single donation will help ease the burden and make sure my mom has access to everything she needs to give her the best chance at beating this cancer. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser or lifting our family up in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, support, and generosity during the most difficult time in our lives. We are forever grateful.
With love, gratitude, and hope,
The Mergel Family
