Our whole world turned upside down when my mother was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in July of this year. Since then, we have spent most of our time digging through resources, applying for every bit of financial aid possible, and scraping together the bits of savings we do have to make sure she can afford treatment. Since her cancer is so aggressive, she will need to receive chemo treatments for 6 months and will be unable to work during this time. Her disability only covers a portion of her expenses, which is heartbreaking considering she already lives paycheck to paycheck.

Disaster struck today when my mother’s car decided to break down, leaving her with little to no options for travel to her weekly bloodwork and chemo appointments. I truly wish I could snap my fingers and make all of her problems go away, but unfortunately, my funds don’t stretch that far. Any help would make a world of difference and would mean my mother can focus on fighting this horrible disease instead of worrying about how she will keep the lights on.
