Hello everyone,

My name is Yinka and I am reaching out to ask for your support for my incredible mother (Tongii), who has been battling multiple health challenges over the past few years.

Three years ago, my mom was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer on her birthday. The heartbreaking diagnosis, aggressive chemotherapy, and her immunocompromised state left her no choice but to leave the job she loved as a healthcare professional who found joy in helping others be healthy. Despite the hardships, she has fought courageously and with unwavering love and determination. Recently, in 2025, she received another devastating diagnosis—bone cancer (multiple myeloma). She was told by her team of oncologists that her type of bone cancer was incurable and requires lifelong rounds of chemo. To make things even more critical, in June 2025, she suffered a stroke while alone in her room. It was a miracle that she was able to crawl from the shower where she had passed out, reach her phone, and call for help. Thanks to her quick thinking and resilience, she received the medical care she desperately needed.

My mom is a loving mother and a veteran who has always put her family first. Her strength inspires me every day. She is also helping me pursue my dreams—supporting me as I attend college, where I’ve been a Dean's List student, and I am on my way to medical school to become a neurologist. I am passionate about helping others and someday hope to make a difference in the lives of those facing health challenges—just like my mom. Despite her fighting spirit, my mom has been applying for disability through the state of Maryland for two years and has been denied. The financial burden of her treatments, mountains of bills from doctors' visits and chemo appointments, and healthcare is overwhelming, and we need your help to ensure she receives the care and support she deserves.

We believe that through prayer, faith, and the kindness of others, our situation will turn around for the better. Your donation will help us cover medical expenses, chemotherapy treatments, and daily living costs during this difficult time.
