Hello friends and family, my name is Drake Nichols, and I am starting this fundraiser for my 67-year-old mother Debbie Harper-Nichols. On February 28th, my mom went in for an angioplasty to put a stent in her right leg. The operation failed; unfortunately, her right leg, above the knee, had to be amputated on Saturday, March 4th. Due to the lack of blood flow in her leg, they had to amputate high enough that her pelvis could supply blood for recovery. I hope to raise money because she lives in an inaccessible upstairs apartment through HUD. She has been on a waiting list for a downstairs apartment because she has had several surgeries over the past three years. My mom needs help transitioning into handicapped living, and I would like to help her find a home where she can recover. Debbie has been in recovery for 30 years and has struggled with nicotine; however, after this week, she has vowed never to use nicotine and to walk again with the use of a prosthetic. Donations will go to her transition into a handicapped home and rehab so she can walk again. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated!
