Nuestra madre, Carolina, necesita con urgencia acceder a un tratamiento de inmunoterapia con pembrolizumab, una opción médica respaldada por la ciencia que podría darle una nueva oportunidad frente al cáncer. Sin embargo, el costo de este tratamiento es abrumador para nuestra familia: aproximadamente 2 millones de pesos mexicanos por un año completo.

Durante los últimos tres años, Carolina ha enfrentado una batalla incansable contra el cáncer de mama triple negativo, una de las formas más agresivas de esta enfermedad. Ha pasado por mastectomía, más de 45 sesiones de radioterapia, y una cantidad incontable de quimioterapias. Los medicamentos han tenido que cambiarse varias veces, ya sea por falta de disponibilidad, por pérdida de efectividad o por ajustes médicos. A pesar de todo esto, el cáncer ha seguido avanzando.

Soy Ángel, su hijo, y he tenido que abandonar la universidad dos veces para poder apoyarla. Como familia, hemos dado todo lo que está en nuestras manos: tiempo, esfuerzo, recursos… pero ya no podemos solos.

Necesitamos de ti.

Our mother, Carolina, urgently needs access to immunotherapy with pembrolizumab, a science-backed treatment that could give her a real chance in her fight against cancer. Unfortunately, the cost is far beyond what our family can afford — approximately 2 million Mexican pesos (about $115,000 USD) for a full year of treatment.

For the past three years, Carolina has been battling triple-negative breast cancer, one of the most aggressive forms of the disease. She has undergone a mastectomy, more than 45 sessions of radiation therapy, and countless rounds of chemotherapy. Her medications have been changed repeatedly — sometimes due to lack of availability, other times because they stopped being effective or needed medical adjustments. Still, the cancer continues to progress.

My name is Ángel, her son, and I’ve had to leave university twice to support and care for her. As a family, we’ve given everything we have — our time, our energy, and our resources. But now, we can’t do this alone.

We need your help.
