Help My Mom (Alicia) Fight MS
Donation protected
In 2018, my mom suffered an ankle injury that resulted in a Brostrom Ankle reconstruction surgery. After many months of failed physical therapy and confused about why recovery was endless, it was determined she had MS which was why the results she kept aiming for were unattainable. Recently, she went to visit my sister and collapsed, unable to walk at all. We have met with a Neurologist and come up with a treatment plan consisting of oral and/or infusion specialty medications after completion of steroids. She currently has no health insurance as she is awaiting disability. She is unable to work and the specialty medications are very expensive. After being diagnosed with MS and then Covid in November 2020, the most recent fiasco of her home suffering from structural damage due to frozen pipes and water damage has been all too overwhelming. She has been moved out of the home and is living and rehabilitating with my oldest sister. She has not viewed the house in person but we finally let her see it via FaceTime and as you can imagine she’s devastated and overwhelmed. The consolation is she’s holding on to her faith. She’s a woman of faith. She’s always helped others but slow to ask for help. I am her voice right now. She would never ask for it, but she needs assistance. The proceeds will go to the start of her specialty medications, rehabilitation, medical equipment, etc. This is an urgent matter as she is completing steroid therapy and will need to start a MS drug as soon as possible.
