Help my mom afford hospital bills and rent

Donation protected
Hi friends, I'm asking you all for support and funds so my mom can afford her hospital bills and pay rent. She lives by herself in Temple, TX and is isolated + disconnected from her community. Two weeks ago, she was rushed to the emergency room with shortness of breath and muscle pain -- the doctors explained that her long-term DVT had critically worsened. She had an operation on a large blood clot in her leg but she has two inoperable clots in her lung and heart.

She is currently home and recovering, but is unable to work for the next six weeks. She has already been out of work since early March because of COVID-19 and these hospital bills are worsening her unstable financial situation.

A little more about my mom's situation: She is deaf which limits her job opportunities. She has worked two jobs for (minimum) the last 15 years. Her main job is for the Round Rock, TX school district: she started as a cafeteria worker and eventually became a job coach for differently-abled students. There she makes $15/hr. Her second job is at Gattiland Round Rock where she makes $11/hr. Her students love her and her co-workers at her second job are very fond of her.

In August 2016, we were evicted from our apartment because new management increased the rent. I went to college in September, but my mother had to live in her car by herself until March 2017. She could no longer afford to live in Round Rock, TX so she had to move to Temple, TX. She couldn't find work in the new city so she had to continue working in Round Rock.

Her typical day is: waking up at 6am, driving 1.5 hours to Round Rock and working for RRISD from 8am to 5pm. She then clocks in at Gattiland from 5:30pm to close which is usually around midnight. She typically returns home at 1am.

The August 2016 eviction was our second one and my mom worked really hard to start over in Temple, TX and build a new life for herself. She has faced legal trouble for being unable to pay car tickets while she was homeless. Her hospitalization threatens this new life and I want her to avoid another eviction.

She is the hardest working person I know and deserves much better than her financial situation affords her.

I am a work-study student on a full-ride at Northwestern and haven't been able to work since March. I frequently give her what I can, but her hospital checkups and medication are becoming increasingly expensive and will continue to be a financial burden for her foreseeable future. She currently relies on donations from friends and coworkers.

Anything you can donate would be appreciated. My venmo is also @latesha0318 if you would prefer not donating over GoFundMe. I would also appreciate you sharing this GoFundMe and keeping my mother in your prayers. Thank you so much.
