Help My Lucy live with Cushing’s

I never thought l'd be here, with the love of my life sick & me asking for help. But here we are. This has been incredibly hard. Anyone who knows me knows that Lucy is my heart dog. She is my emotional support, my best friend. Lucy's health declined this year. It started with her drinking more water and a couple accidents in the house. Blood tests and Urine analysis came back pretty clean and that's when the vet brought up cushing's disease. I was already crushed. So we booked the test and it came back positive. Cushing's is a disease that comes at a pretty big cost. The medication to regulate her cortisol levels is very expensive monthly. About $200. And then there is regular bloodwork to monitor those cortisol levels. It's a not just an easy fix, it takes some tinkering to get the meds just right. This week Lucy's disease is progressing. The vet wants to do an ultrasound of her liver to see if she can handle the meds that will give her a fighting chance. That's $600 that | don't have. And I just want to give her a fighting chance. The best quality of life I can, how ever long my best friend has. I owe it to her. Little back story of my Lucy, she was a rescue, I fostered her and her sister at 5 weeks old, we have been inseparable ever since. Asking for help is not easy. But I know there are people out there that understand, that want to help. And this was my last resort. I would trade years off my life just to give my girl more. I am heartbroken over this. But with proper care I truly believe I'll have some more time left with my girl. Thank you for listening.

*Update* August 2nd. Lucy’s blood work came back and her liver enzymes are still higher than they would like. They also said there is signs of an infection in her blood. So we are starting antibiotics. Then re testing blood. 

*Update* Lucy is booked for bloodwork to see if her liver enzymes have gone down enough to start the drug that helps treat Cushings Disease. Fingers crossed!
