In October 2024, my lifelong friend’s world changed when she suffered a stroke. The road to recovery hasn’t been easy — months of therapy, countless doctor visits, and endless determination to regain her strength. Through incredible perseverance, she has recovered most of her functions, but her journey has been anything but simple.

By March 2025, after more tests and evaluations, her doctors confirmed that she needed a total hip replacement surgery, due to AVN (Vascular Necrosis). In July 2025, she underwent the procedure, and while the surgery was successful, her recovery has been long, challenging, and emotionally draining. She is currently staying in a care facility where she’s receiving intensive therapy to regain her mobility and independence.

I’ve known her my entire life. She has always been the friend who shows up — the one who remembers birthdays, checks in when you’re having a bad day, and makes you laugh when you need it most. Seeing someone so full of life, strength, and kindness face so many obstacles has been heartbreaking. But if there’s one thing I know about her, it’s that she’s a fighter.
