I want to honestly explain the reason for this GoFundMe campaign. My name is Shaira Rodriguez, and I'm writing to share my family's story and ask for your support. In April 2025, my children's father had to leave the country for his Green Card immigration appointment in Brazil. Unfortunately, Immigration didn't allow him to return immediately and requested additional documentation, which has greatly prolonged the process.

As a result, my children have been separated from their father for months. The hardest part has been the impact on our children. This situation has caused them a lot of stress and sadness from not being able to have their father with them. Three of my children are on the autism spectrum, and for them, the changes, the distance, and the uncertainty have been especially difficult to cope with. As a mother, seeing them go through this breaks my heart. The cost of traveling to Brazil, especially with five children, is incredibly high and beyond my means. I'm organizing this fundraiser to help cover the airfare so my children can see and spend time with their father in Brazil this summer.

This is our true story, and we hope to receive some help reuniting our family. Any support you can offer means a great deal to us. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Esta situación les ha causado mucho estrés y tristeza al no poder tener a su padre a su lado. Tres de mis hijos se encuentran dentro del espectro autista y, para ellos, los cambios, la distancia y la incertidumbre han resultado especialmente difíciles de sobrellevar. Como madre, verlos pasar por esta situación me rompe el corazón. El costo de viajar a Brasil —especialmente con cinco niños— es sumamente elevado y excede mis posibilidades económicas.
