Help my inlaws leave the chaos in Venezuela
Donation protected
13 years ago my son went to live with his maternal grandparents, Irama and Antonio, in Caracas, Venezuela. Things were not good for me and his mother in NYC at the time and they graciously took him in. Both are teachers and they raised my son to be a studious, generous wonderful young man. Things were very different back then in their home country. Unfortunately the situation has become dire in Venezuela. Food, access to medicine, reliable electricity and water are nowhere to be found and with hyperinflation their monthly income is the equivalent of 5 dollars a month. After trying to stick it out and make things work Irama and Antonio have decided to leave their country behind and search for greener pastures here in the U.S.. They will make the journey in early July. My son will be living with me and finishing High School as he gets ready to go to college. His grandparents, who are in their seventies, will need to find work and accommodations as they begin a new journey and leave behind the life they have built in Venezuela. All the money raised here will go to helping Irama and Antonio find housing, transportation and other expenses as they settle in. I am so grateful to them for helping me in a time of need and I hope to return that love to them by easing this huge transition. Thank you so much for contributing in any way you can! We all greatly appreciate whatever you can do to help!
