I’m Dani Johnson, the owner of The Wandering Soul, a space dedicated to showcasing local artists and authors while fostering a love for creativity, books, and community. For over 2 years, our shop has been a hub for local creatives, bookworms, and those who believe in the magic of independent shops.

Like many small businesses, we’ve faced challenges, and the past few months have been especially tough. In August 2024, I had to undergo major surgery, which forced me to close the shop for three weeks. That downtime, combined with the usual ups and downs of running a small business, has made it difficult to recover financially. While I’ve done everything I can to boost sales—hosting events, running promotions, and partnering with local artists—I'm still struggling to cover essential expenses, including commission payments to the talented artists who trust me to sell their work.
