Hi im brianna, and this is Achilles My 10 yr old husky.When I was 10, my mom found this husky on the side of the road. His owner had been in a car accident and passed away. We tried to reach the family, but they didn’t want him, and we couldn’t leave him alone. We took him in, and he’s been my baby ever since. When we first got Achilles, he was really depressed and scared from everything he went through. It took maybe a year of a lot of patience, care, and love just to get him to start trusting us and coming out of his shell. Now he’s about 10, super sweet, doesn’t bark much, loves playing with plastic ducks, splashing in kiddie pools, and just hanging out with us. He honestly has the best personality and has brought so much joy to our family. Recently, something really scary happened. While sneezing, Achilles started having intense pain in his shoulders and neck, and now he can’t stand or walk without screaming in pain. Even the tiniest movement makes him yelp, and he’s having muscle spasms. We think it’s a cervical disc issue, and we have a vet appointment Monday morning, but the cost is way more than our family can afford. Things are already really tight for us. My mom works as a CNA, and we just got kicked out of my grandma’s house because it’s being sold. We moved into a trailer, and bills are already stacking up. My parents even thought about rehoming Achilles before the move, but we couldn’t — he’s only ever known us, he’s shy and scared, and he’s been with our family for so long. Any money donated will go directly to his vet bill, and if there’s anything left, it will go toward his future care or to spoil him once he’s feeling better. He’s been through so much in his life already, and now he really needs our help. Please help us give Achilles the care he deserves so he can hopefully feel better and keep being the happy, loving dog we all know and love.
