My husband is only 56 years old, and we never imagined we would be facing something as serious as a liver transplant at this stage in our lives. This journey has been filled with uncertainty, but we are holding onto hope and doing everything we can to support his recovery. Unfortunately, our insurance will not cover the post-transplant medications that are absolutely essential for his recovery and long-term health. Without these medications, the transplant simply isn’t possible. In addition, we will need to travel into the city three times a week for appointments and follow-ups, and there is a 6–8 week recovery period ahead of us. The financial and emotional strain of this process is overwhelming, but we are determined to do everything we can to give him the best chance at a healthy future.
