My husband has always been a loving partner and a devoted father to our three young children. When he was younger, he was diagnosed with a leaky valve on the left side of his heart. Despite this, he worked hard to provide for our family and lived life to the fullest. Everything changed when he contracted Covid, which caused the entire left side of his heart to shut down. Since then, our lives have been turned upside down as we wait for him to be placed on the heart transplant list.

This journey has been incredibly difficult for our family. My husband is no longer able to work, and I am often scared to leave him alone because of his condition. Our children have had to adjust to a new reality, and the emotional and financial strain has been overwhelming. We travel four hours from Louisiana to Houston every month for his treatments, and the costs of medical bills, travel, and child care continue to add up.
