Just before Thanksgiving, a trip to the ER — followed by a CT scan — changed our lives in an instant. What began as a concern quickly led to a colonoscopy and biopsies. Soon after, pathology confirmed the news no one is ever prepared to hear.
Josh, at just 38 years old, has been diagnosed with colon cancer.
This journey has moved incredibly fast, but we are grateful to have an amazing medical team and a strong circle of support. After meeting with a colorectal surgeon, we now have a plan in place — surgery will be the first step in kicking cancer in the ass.
Josh does have insurance, and we moved quickly to secure FMLA. Unfortunately, even with coverage, we are facing significant out-of-pocket medical expenses, along with travel and lodging costs. Josh’s surgery will take place in Vermont, requiring us to be there for approximately seven days — two days prior for prep and five days post-surgery, assuming everything goes to plan.
Between medical bills, travel, lodging, and lost income, the financial impact of this diagnosis has been overwhelming — and completely unexpected.
We are asking for help in any way you’re able:
Please share Josh’s story
Keep him in your prayers as he begins this fight
And if you’re able, consider donating
Every contribution helps cover what insurance won’t and allows us to focus on what truly matters — Josh’s healing, recovery, and strength as he takes on this fight.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, love, and support. We are so grateful to have you walking this journey with us.
