My husband was diagnosed with alpha gal syndrome after a tick bite, and it has completely changed our lives. Alpha gal is a rare allergy that makes him react to anything containing mammal products, which means we have to be extremely careful with everything he comes in contact with—including food, hygiene products, medicine, and even fumes. Simple things like going into a convenience store can trigger a reaction, and every day is a challenge to avoid exposure.

We are seeking funds to help cover the costs of a procedure called SAAT, which is a holistic acupuncture treatment. The funds will go toward patient setup, testing, and the actual acupuncture sessions. While SAAT is not a guaranteed fix and isn’t covered by insurance, we have heard from others who have seen tremendous improvement after the treatment. Our hope is that this procedure will help my husband go into remission and regain some normalcy in his daily life, allowing him to function without constant fear of a reaction.
