This October, I’m running the York Marathon to raise vital funds for someone incredibly close to my heart — Clint, who lives every day with a severe spinal cord injury that has left him paralyzed from the neck down in split second his life changed forever.

Nearly five years ago, Clint’s life changed in an instant when a spinal cord injury left him completely paralyzed from the neck down. From a strong, active man — a talented boxer and devoted father to two beautiful girls— to someone who now relies entirely on others for the most basic of needs that we all take for granted. Despite it all clint remains the strongest person I’ve ever met.

As his carer, I witness firsthand his daily battle. The physical pain, the emotional toll, the quiet strength it takes just to get through the day. He’s lost so much — his independence, his freedom, and the life he once knew. But he hasn’t lost his spirit. He remains one of the kindest, most gentle, and determined person — and his love for his two young daughters keeps him going.

But the truth is, he needs more help than the system can offer. Rehabilitation options in the UK are extremely limited, and the kinds of therapies that could truly change his life come with overwhelming costs — especially abroad, where some of the most promising treatments exist.

That’s why I’m doing this — to raise money for someone I consider a hero and an inspiration and give Clint the chance he deserves. A chance at real rehabilitation. A chance at hope.
