My grandmother is preparing to undergo another major surgery due to coronary artery disease, and during her recovery, my grandfather will need to step away from work for at least two months to care for her. While their focus right now should be on her health and healing, they are also facing a difficult financial burden. Their home’s HVAC system has already been repaired once, but unfortunately it broke down again. After having a specialist come out to inspect it, they were given the difficult news that the entire unit needs to be replaced. Without it, they will be facing the intense summer heat without air conditioning. With limited income during this time, affording such a necessary expense is simply out of reach. The stress of worrying about both health and home comfort has been overwhelming for them, and it’s hard to see them struggle when all they want is to focus on recovery. This situation is not easy, and it makes them feel vulnerable and incapable of taking care of themselves. I took the initiative to create this fundraiser personally because I simply can’t witness them continue to fight and struggle alone. Donations will not only help with their new air conditioning, but anything will help with the recovery from her surgery as well.
