Help My Grandparents Care for Rescued Pets

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Vivian Enciso. Recently, I went to visit my grandparents in Ecuador to help them with their animal refuge. My grandfather is 83 years old and my grandma is 79 years old, and they are the caretakers of over 20 dogs and 40 cats. For over 12 years, they have taken in and nursed stray dogs and cats who have been terribly mistreated, but they are getting to an age where it is harder to provide physically, financially and maintain all the animals they have helped over the years. Each day, my grandfather walks each dog they have in their home (about 8), while my grandmother makes their food by hand to make sure they are eating as healthy as possible, and with as much love as possible. Afterwards they visit their refugee, to then clean and feed the remaining cats and dogs they have there.

They have many stories of cats and dogs they have saved, and then given away to find their forever homes, whether that be with families in Ecuador or even here in the United States. One story, they have shared with me is about a blind dog, who followed them while on vacation. For the entire week of vacation, they fed him as often as they could because they were not allowed to take him in, but at the time of their departure, they decided to take him home to take care of any fleas, ticks, and diseases he might've had. Now he lives with them in their home, and his name is Sammy. They name each animal according to where they found them or the circumstance of their first interaction. This is one of the many stories they have.

I am trying to raise money for not only extra help, but also the animal food, veterinarian bills, and cost of the refuge. In many countries, like Ecuador, there are many animals that are mistreated. For this reason, my grandparents have taken it upon themselves to make a small change in the world and help as many animals as they possibly can. After just being there for a week and a half, I was able to experience the amount of labor and cost it takes to do as much as they do.

Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and would take a load off their backs. Thank you so much to anyone who can help in any way they can.
