My wonderful grandpa lost his home to a devastating house fire this morning. In a matter of hours, everything he owned was gone. My mother and aunt, who partially shared the house with him, have also lost some of their belongings. It’s heartbreaking to see my grandpa, who has worked so hard his whole life, face the challenge of starting over from scratch so late in life. The loss is overwhelming, and it’s difficult to imagine how he must be feeling right now.

Right now, our focus is on helping my grandpa and family replace the essentials they need to get by—things like clothing, toiletries, and basic household goods. Thankfully, he has temporary housing arranged, but rebuilding a sense of normalcy will take time and support. Every little bit helps as we try to restore some comfort and stability for him and my family.
