Help My Grandma, Lora Acosta, Rebuild After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
I’m writing today with a heavy heart, asking for your help after an unimaginable tragedy that has completely upended my grandmother’s life. On November 15, 2024, a fire broke out in my grandma’s home, completely destroying everything she held dear. She lost not only her house but also her beloved cat, Baby, who tragically did not survive the blaze.
Anyone who knows my grandma knows how much love and care she put into her home. It was her sanctuary, a place filled with memories of her life, and a reflection of the love she gave to everyone around her. But in an instant, it was all gone—along with the warmth of her little companion, who was more than just a pet; Baby was her family.
We are still in shock from this devastating loss, and while we are all so grateful that my grandma was not home during the fire, the emotional and financial toll of this disaster is overwhelming. She has lost everything: her furniture, clothes, cherished mementos, and most painfully, the home she had lived in for 52 years.
Now, my grandma is starting from scratch. She needs help rebuilding not just her life, but her sense of safety and security. Replacing what was lost, especially after such a traumatic event, is something that feels impossible for her to do alone.
That’s why I’m reaching out today, asking for your support. We’ve created this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of rebuilding her life.
No donation is too small. Every dollar brings my grandma one step closer to healing from this loss. If you’re unable to donate, please share this page with your network and keep my grandma in your thoughts and prayers.
Losing her home and her cat has been a devastating blow, but I know that with the love and support of our community, she can begin to heal. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help you can offer. It means the world to my grandma, and it means the world to me.
With love and gratitude,
