I am writing this on behalf of my granddaughter, Dalilah. She is just ten years old and has experienced a heartbreaking loss no child should have to face.

On the way home from a rodeo, my daughter and granddaughter’s horse trailer had an issue, and in that tragic moment, Dalilah lost her beloved horse, Splash.

Splash wasn’t just a horse—she was Dalilah’s very best friend, her partner, and her safe place. Dalilah spent countless hours with Splash, riding, caring for her, and dreaming big dreams in rodeo and royalty. Splash taught her patience, responsibility, courage, and above all, unconditional love.

Her parents worked and saved for a long time to make Splash possible for her, and the bond that grew between them was more than anyone could have ever imagined. Splash was truly the heartbeat of Dalilah’s world.

Dalilah is one of the most hardworking and determined little girls I know. She pours everything she has into chasing her dreams and caring for the animals she loves. Watching her grieve this loss has been devastating, and as her grandmother, I want to do everything I can to support her in healing.

So many people have asked how they can help, and that is why this page was created. Donations will go toward helping Dalilah process her grief, continue her rodeo journey, and, when her heart is ready, give her the chance to find another horse to love and grow with.

Nothing will ever replace Splash, but with the love and support of this community, I know my sweet granddaughter won’t have to walk this road alone.
