Early Christmas morning, my girlfriend’s family experienced a devastating house fire at their home in Westminster, Maryland. Just before 3:00 a.m., a neighbor and true hero, noticed the fire and alerted 911. My girlfriend was the only one awake at the time watching the grinch, smelled a strange scent and went to investigate- also running out past the already ablaze kitchen to awake family and let police inside.
All individuals who were inside the home were able to escape safely as well as their family dog Aggy, and we are deeply grateful that no one was severely injured. Unfortunately, the fire caused extensive damage to the house, leaving it unlivable with very little to be salvaged. They lost much of their belongings and are now facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up. My girlfriend had also been just days away from a major life transition. In one week, we were supposed to move her to Florida and begin a new chapter. Rooms were filled with packed boxes, plans, and hope for the future which are now no longer.
This GoFundMe is to help them cover basic living expenses, mental health support and recovery costs as we navigate the weeks and months ahead. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping them in your thoughts means more than you know.
