Help My Friends & Elderly With Food & Shelter

Dear Friends and Community,

My name is Anton Grokhovskiy and I was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine in 1995 and immigrated to the United States in 2009. Although I left Ukraine, I never forgot about my family and friends, I have kept in contact with many of them to this day. On 2/24/22 a war has been declared against Ukraine, which caused chaos and panic across entire Ukraine and really, the entire world. During this unprecedented time, I feel it is my duty to help the Ukrainian people. Some of my friends and family have fled our hometown Kharkiv and currently living in volunteer-provided housing or renting. Others are hiding in bomb shelters and basements because they either have elderly parents or grandparents whom they can't leave alone or are simply too difficult to transport because they require assistance.

GOALS OVERVIEW:
I'm raising these funds to be able to meet the needs of the Ukrainian people who are impacted by the ongoing war. Funds being raised will directly benefit the following: elderly and less fortunate people, friends, friends of friends, and families of friends. The funds will be allocated towards the immediate needs as they arise.

GOAL
I am helping people find the necessary accommodations including but not limited to food, shelter, transportation for evacuation. At the moment, the railway stations in Kyiv and Kharkiv where most of my friends are from are overfilled and allow only women and children onto trains, therefore young men get separated from their families and have to find an alternate way to get to western Ukraine, specifically Lviv. I have a far reach within Ukraine however I'm unable to help many of my friends by myself due to the enormous volume of people reaching out to me pleading for help. Below is the list of the frequently asked requests by my friends in Ukraine:

  • Finding transportation - volunteer drivers, car rental, etc.
  • Money for gas
  • Money for food
  • Money for shelter - hostels, Airbnb, etc.
  • Money for clothes - many people fled with just a single backpack, given the fact that infrastructure is severely damaged, it creates enormous challenges having access to a clean set of clothes.
  • Money for diapers, wipes, formula, baby medicine, and baby clothes

Your donations will go directly to the needs described above. I ask you to please help me to help soldiers and my friends during this unprecedented time.

Sincerely,
Anton Grokhovskiy
