Hi everyone,

I’m writing on behalf of someone I love and admire deeply—my friend Steven, a brilliant, kind-hearted, and determined human who’s about to take a major step forward in his journey to transform healthcare. Steven has been accepted into a post-baccalaureate program at Cal State Fullerton with a clear mission: to heal systems that have long harmed our communities—and to do it from the inside out.

Steven is a first-generation college student, a trans Indigenous person, and one of the most engaged and compassionate people I know. We met back in community college, and from day one, he’s been the type of person who shows up for others—whether it’s organizing for justice, offering support as a street medic, or simply listening without judgment. He’s also a proud cat dad to two amazing kitties who bring him joy and grounding.

Now, Steven needs our support. In order to fully enroll and thrive in his program, he has to raise $20,000 to cover tuition, living costs, academic materials, and transportation. As someone without intergenerational wealth or a financial safety net, Steven is relying on community—just like he’s always shown up for ours.
