Hi, I'm Dørte from Belgium (the only light skinned person in the picture :-)).

I'm raising funds for my dear friend Samson (the man sitting next to me).

This summer brought heartbreaking news. Samson, who lives in Kenya, was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B and C, and doctors discovered a cancerous tumor on his liver.

Who Samson Is

I met Samson some years ago, while working in Kenya between 2017 and 2019, and we’ve stayed close friends ever since.

He is one of the kindest, most selfless people I know — always helping others in his community, even when he has little himself, living in the Kibera slum in Nairobi back then, and as a subsistence farmer next to the Kakamega Forest National Reserve now.

Now, he’s the one who needs our help.

‍‍‍ A Proud Father and Good Friend

Samson has 5 children, and he also took care of 2 foster kids.

His eldest son recently became the first in their extended family to graduate from college — a huge milestone that filled Samson with pride.

He’s a loving father, a loyal friend, and a gentle soul who has touched so many lives.

What Happened

Samson urgently needs an operation to remove the tumor from his liver and medication to recover.

The total cost is 882,000 Kenyan shillings (around €6,000).

I’ve already arranged and paid for a premium insurance policy, which cut the cost nearly in half — from more than €11,000 — but Samson and his family can’t afford the remaining amount.
