On Monday (11/22/2021), a tragedy occurred in Atlanta when two wonderful people were senselessly murdered. Dan and Kristen were like family to so many, and we have all been left shaken and confused as to how such an awful thing could happen to such wonderful people.

Our friend, Mykey, was on his way over there when this event occurred, and he was just minutes away from possibly losing his own life by the hands of the same person. Upon arriving he found two of his best friends lying in a pool of blood and was forced to sit there with their bodies for 45 minutes while waiting for the police to arrive. Those who know Mykey well would also know that this event occurred just after the anniversary of his Mother’s Death. Mykey’s Mother, Liz, was his best friend in the entire world. When she received her cancer diagnosis it was Mykey who became her caretaker. Mykey cared for her for 8 months, until her very last breath on 10/31/2020. 

With so much death and tragedy coming into his life he is struggling to cope and move forward, which is why we are starting this GoFundMe for him.

As you know, mental health services in America don’t come without a (high) price. Recent events over the last year (Covid, caring for Liz) have prevented Mykey from being able to keep steady employment, let alone employment that provides health insurance. At this moment we are asking you to please donate anything you can to help our dear friend get the mental health services he needs. Mykey is a hard-working ambitious person, but he is currently struggling with PTSD, Anxiety, Insomnia and Depression. These are all things that he can work to control with the help of a great therapist, but we can’t do it without help.

Our goal, with your support, is to raise funds for one year’s worth of therapy to help Mikey process these tragic events in a healthy way. We hope that with this financial support he can move forward and become the person he needs to be to live a healthy and successful life.
