My friend is a Saudi Arabian woman and a dedicated medical student who is facing an incredibly difficult chapter in her life. Recently, she made the brave decision to escape a domestic violence situation in Egypt. As a queer person living in a conservative environment, her identity put her at serious risk, and leaving was the only way to protect her safety and her future. Because she chose to leave, her family has completely cut her off financially, intentionally isolating her and making it even harder for her to survive on her own.

Right now, she has no income, no savings, and no support system to rely on. She is determined to finish her current semester in medical school over the next five weeks so she doesn’t lose years of hard work and effort. After that, she plans to relocate to Georgia, where she can begin rebuilding her life and finding a way to support herself in a safer environment.

The funds raised will help cover her most urgent needs: travel expenses, temporary housing, food and basic necessities, and emergency support while she searches for income. This is not a long-term solution—just a starting point so she can stabilize and begin building independence. She is doing everything she can to stay strong and move forward, but she cannot do this alone. Any support, no matter how small, will make a real difference in helping her stay safe.
