My friend is more than just a friend—she’s like a sister to me. She currently lives in Washington DC, We’ve known each other for over 30 years, and she’s always been the kind of person who puts others first. She’s a wonderful, caring, and kind-hearted person, a devoted mother, and a true people person. She’s always sacrificed for others, and now she’s facing a situation no one should ever have to go through.
Just a week ago, her life changed forever when she lost her home in a devastating fire. Everything she owned was destroyed, and her husband was severely burned and is now in the hospital. She’s left with nothing—no belongings, no memories, and no place to call home. She’s currently out of work because she needs to be by her husband’s side, and she’s staying in a hotel, trying to get by with minimal help from agencies. The loss is even harder because she didn’t have renters insurance, so there’s no way to replace what she’s lost, including her mother’s ashes and cherished family photos.
The funds raised here will go directly toward her most urgent needs: covering her hotel stay, food, gas for her car to get to the hospital, and other basic essentials. I’m not asking for a lot—just enough to help her get by day to day while she supports her husband and tries to rebuild. She is truly devastated, but she’s grateful her husband survived. Any support you can give would mean the world to her right now. Thank you for reading and for any help you can offer.
