Help My Friend Rebuild After a Toilet Catastrophe
You know that saying, “When it rains, it pours”? Well, in this case… it flushed. And kept flushing. And then tree roots got involved. And now my friend’s entire house is unlivable.
On Mother’s Day (of all days), my dear friend woke up to a broken toilet (in a house with one toilet)— but not just your average broken toilet. This was a full-blown, pipes-invaded-by-tree-roots, cascading-disaster kind of toilet situation. What started as a clogged commode has turned into thousands of dollars in repairs, a temporarily uninhabitable home, and two kids who are now staying with grandma because it’s not safe to be at home.
To make matters worse, insurance won’t cover a dime because — get this — “natural causes” (as if that makes it any easier to swallow!).
My friend and her husband are holding it together with duct tape and sheer willpower, but the truth is: they need help. The estimate to get everything back to livable is $50,000. That includes plumbing, major repairs, and making sure their home is safe again for the whole family.
If you’ve ever:
• Laughed through tears
• Had a day where one thing after another went wrong
• Needed a miracle… or just a solid group of kind humans to show up
…this is one of those moments.
Please donate what you can, even if it’s just a few dollars. Every bit helps this beautiful, resilient family get back home, back to safety, and back to flushing without fear.
And if you can’t give, a share goes a long way too. ❤️
