Help My Friend Pastor Isaac & His Family!

Donation protected

Hi, friends!

If you have the time to learn a little bit about my friends in Uganda and donate anything, it would be deeply appreciated.

In 2013, I met Isaac on a trip to Uganda when he was just a high schooler.  I remember praying over him and seeing that he had a father's heart, and was called into the pastoral ministry. I shared this with him. It was a holy moment!

We enjoyed getting to know Isaac and the many other children that lived in the orphanage and were so sad to say goodbye! Isaac and I kept contact on Facebook over the years, and he had since graduated high school and THEN graduated from seminary in Kenya.

When the pandemic began, he let me know the horrible news: The orphanage had been bankrupt and everyone running it had gone back to America. He returned home to find all of his "brothers and sisters" on the street. Isaac found two small homes with rent he could afford and began to take care of two-quarters of those who had previously been in the orphanage, which were 11 teenagers and young adults:

Maureen (16), Ronald (14), Grace (23), Robert (21), Shamim (19), Faith (18), Ruth (13), Mercy (18), Joy (23), Brian (17), and himself, Isaac (27).

He paid for their food with donations to the church he pastored... until the church had to close.

There was no work, and the government did not help them at all. This set them back in rent considerably, and they were hungry.

My husband and I were able to help them a couple times, but we soon realized that helping our friends get out of this difficult pit would take more than we could do. That's when I decided to start a GoFundMe and reach out to you.

We have the chance to give them a second start.

With back rent owed on the two tiny homes, bills, food, and school fees (school is not free in Uganda) they were buried. Isaac had a plan to begin work again as a taxi driver, using the old orphanage van that had been abandoned. It was no longer working, but he got a quote on how much it would be to fix.

On top of all of this, Maureen got very sick, and they struggled to pay for the hospital bills.

Isaac submitted to me a plan detailing the cost of everything and showing me documents they were given by each party.

In Uganda, 1 Ugandan Shilling equals 0.00028 United States Dollar. That means just giving them $20 USD gives them 71,815.84 shillings, so it goes a long way. To give you an idea, rent is about $60 USD a month for both homes they rent (one boys home, one girls home).

Would you consider helping my friends?

Love you all! Thanks for taking the time to learn their story and to pray about donating. God bless!
