Help Kofi with Brain Surgery, insulin for diabetes.

My friend Kofi is from Ghana.

I see him once a week.

He walks 2 miles to a food pantry in Wilmington, NC. He came here to be with his brother's family 4 years ago. His brother was a physician in Wilmington. He and his wife had a child who requires constant 24-hour care, feeding tube, wheelchair, lifting, and carrying. Kofi's brother passed away 2 years ago. Kofi stays awake while his nephew sleeps, to make sure he lives another day.

Kofi has no medical insurance and cannot qualify for Medicaid. But...

Kofi has diabetes.

Kofi has frequent and serious seizures.

Kofi loves his nephew.

Kofi has been blessed with a kind local medical community. I know this because I got to be his friend, a friend who drives him home so that he can bring his box of gifted food to his home.

When he is desperate, he lets me know and I give him money for insulin and bus passes to see his doctors.

Surgeons at Duke have told him he needs surgery; he is losing his memory.

Please help my friend Kofi.
