Hi, my friend is currently in a very difficult situation where they are trying to leave a progressively abusive relationship, to the point where I and others have been concerned for their safety. I have known them since high school and their family lives in ON while they are currently in BC and trying to move to AB. They have a safe place to stay in AB once they can get out of BC, they just need to leave. The money we are asking for would be for a UHaul as well as half of the rent for the current apartment (so they feel safer leaving). They want to be out hopefully by the end of June. Any amount that you can donate is helpful as they don't have a job and are currently only on disability (which goes towards bills and food). The beneficiary is in my name so that they remain anonymous, all funds from this WILL be given to them.
