Help My Friend Finish Out her Last Semester

Hey everyone! My name is Tara and I am making this GoFundMe on behalf of one of my close friends who wants to remain anonymous. My friend is about to go into her very last semester of college but she has had an unprecedented financial challenge come up. Her mom is a single mom and she just got laid off. My friend is also a first generation immigrant and her immigration status is at stake if she cannot continue school. She will be homeless and jobless if she cannot continue to stay enrolled in school for this semester due to the fact that she does not have a Green Card yet. Her family's immigration documents have been stuck in processing for 13 years now.

Her family's financial situation is suddenly very uncertain. Her financial aid got cut this year so she has already been struggling to pay the bills and for tuition. She is one of the most hardworking people I know of and has consistently had three jobs in college to support herself and her family at home since she has younger siblings she takes care of as well. She has juggled being a full time student on top of it all all four years and honestly, I don't know how she does it. But right now, she is $25,000 short of finishing out college and the school is not letting her register for classes because of the financial hold she has on her student account. She needs $13,000 to clear the hold on the account so she can at least register for classes and the rest of the amount will go towards the outstanding charges for the Spring semester. She cannot take out a loan due to her family's financial situation and her co signers backed out at the last minute leaving her stranded. Classes start January 17th so she needs to have at least the hold cleared by Tuesday the 16th so she can start school with everyone else. She has been in unimaginable distress and has been trying to work with the school to negotiate a better financial aid package for the semester but they are adamant. Her family's christmas and new years has been spent trying to figure out her future and whether she can finish out the diploma I know she has worked so hard for. All funds raised will directly go to her college account to pay off the outstanding balance and I can attach proof as well.
