My friend and their roommate are facing eviction in this brutal job market because they have been unable to get enough work to cover rent, despite getting other expenses to rock-bottom levels, exploring all other options for support, and accepting any work that comes their way. Health and mobility issues have compounded job search problems, and they're willing to relocate, but that doesn't resolve the more immediate problem.
$10K will help them avoid eviction.
I don't know if you've struggled in this job market, but theirs is not an unusual story, even, and sometimes especially, for highly-educated, highly-skilled individuals like them. It can be even harder to get work if you're deemed "too educated" or "overqualified." Often, the only reason people are getting by is because they have retirement funds to raid or a partner who's still working.
They need funds ASAP, and reaching this goal will help them avoid eviction. Literally every donation helps, so don't be stopped by thinking you can't donate very much. If 20 people give $5, that's as valuable as one $100 donation.
Please help out by donating to reach the $10K goal by or before Monday, July 14.
