After two years of bravely fighting cancer, my father is now in the final stage of his journey, and our greatest wish is to keep him comfortable at home surrounded by family and love.

He spent his life working hard and caring deeply for his family.

Throughout everything he has faced, he has remained incredibly positive and strong, even after having to leave his job, give up his apartment, and become dependent on others.

When his body could no longer tolerate additional treatment, he chose hospice care. Ced and I welcomed him into our home so he could spend this time surrounded by family, love, and familiarity.

We had hoped Medicaid would help us secure a full-time hospice facility when the time came, but unfortunately there is no availability in our area, and his health has declined much more quickly than we expected. He now requires round-the-clock care at home. We have applied for Medicaid in-home support, but we won't know until late April if he is approved.

With a baby to care for full-time, and after being laid off last May, I am doing everything I can to support him, but I cannot manage this level of care alone. My father has already exhausted his savings, and the cost of professional caregiving is beyond what I can afford.

The funds raised will go directly toward hiring compassionate in-home caregivers and providing essential end-of-life support. This care will help with the physical needs he now has—helping him move, bathe, and stay comfortable—while I continue caring for him in the ways only family can: feeding him, changing his bandages, giving him his medications, and being by his side.

Asking for help is incredibly humbling, but any support will make a meaningful difference. Your kindness will help ensure my father can spend his remaining time in comfort, dignity, and peace, surrounded by the people who love him most.
