Help My Father, Jorge Garcia Moncada, a Retired Colonel, Receive the Medical Care He Desperately Needs

Hi everyone,

My name is Jorge Garcia, and I’m reaching out to you on behalf of my father, a man who has dedicated his life to serving others. My father, Jorge Garcia Moncada, a retired colonel in the Venezuelan National Guard, spent his entire career protecting and serving his country. The healthcare system in Venezuela is in shambles, and after a lifetime of service, my father has been left without health insurance, without a livable retirement wage, and without the means to afford the critical care he needs.

This year has been incredibly tough for my father. In January, he was diagnosed with cardiac fibrillation, and just a couple of months later, in March, he suffered a stroke. As if that wasn’t enough, this past week, he underwent major surgery where 135 cm of his colon was removed, along with two lymph nodes. The surgery was due to an inflammatory condition that is still being reviewed by pathologists, and we are anxiously awaiting the results. Additionally, he is type 2 diabetic which makes his condition more delicate.

Currently, my father remains hospitalized, unable to eat solid food. He’s relying on parenteral nutrition via IV because his digestive system isn’t ready to process food. His medical bills are piling up, and with no adequate income or health insurance, we are struggling to provide him with the care he needs to recover.

This is a man who has always been strong, resilient, and selfless. He spent his life protecting others, and now, in his time of need, we are asking for your help to protect him. We are seeking funds to cover his ongoing medical treatments, hospital bills, and any additional care he may require as he continues to fight for his health.

Ayudemos a Mi Padre, un Coronel Retirado, a Recibir la Atención Médica que Desesperadamente Necesita

Hola a todos,

Mi nombre es Jorge García, y hoy les escribo en nombre de mi padre, un hombre que ha dedicado su vida a servir a los demás. Los que lo conocen saben que es una persona admirable, un coronel retirado de la Guardia Nacional de Venezuela, pasó toda su carrera protegiendo y sirviendo a su país. El sistema de salud en Venezuela está en ruinas, y después de una vida de servicio, mi padre se ha quedado sin seguro médico, sin una pensión digna y sin los medios para costear la atención crítica que necesita.

Este año ha sido increíblemente difícil para mi padre. En enero, le diagnosticaron fibrilación cardíaca, y solo un par de meses después, en marzo, sufrió un derrame cerebral. Como si eso no fuera suficiente, esta semana pasada, se sometió a una cirugía mayor en la que le removieron 135 cm de su colon, junto con dos ganglios linfáticos. La cirugía fue necesaria debido a una condición inflamatoria que aún está siendo revisada por los patólogos, y estamos esperando ansiosamente los resultados. Además, es diabético tipo 2, lo que hace que su condición sea aún más delicada.

Actualmente, mi padre permanece hospitalizado, incapaz de comer alimentos sólidos. Está dependiendo de la nutrición parenteral a través de una vía intravenosa porque su sistema digestivo aún no está listo para procesar alimentos. Las facturas médicas se están acumulando, y sin un ingreso adecuado ni seguro médico, estamos luchando para brindarle la atención que necesita para recuperarse.

Él es un hombre que siempre ha sido fuerte, resiliente y desinteresado. Pasó su vida protegiendo a los demás, y ahora, en su momento de necesidad, les pedimos su ayuda para protegerlo a él. Estamos buscando fondos para cubrir sus tratamientos médicos continuos, facturas hospitalarias y cualquier atención adicional que pueda necesitar mientras continúa luchando por su salud.
