My brother, Dwayne Bateman, faced many troubled times in his life, but he always fought his way back and found strength in his faith. Two years ago, he suffered the unimaginable loss of his daughter, who was tragically murdered. He held on as long as he could, but sadly, he did not survive to see justice served for her. Despite everything, Dwayne remained a loving son, brother, grandfather, and uncle, and he found joy in the things he loved most—racing, working as a mechanic, and fishing. His racing nickname, “Bulldawg#B69,” was known by many, and Dwayne Bateman spent over a decade on the track, building friendships and memories that will last forever.

Now, our family is facing the difficult task of saying goodbye. My mother and father are both in their 70s, retired, and living on a limited income. Dwayne did not have a life insurance policy, so my mother is left to cover all of the funeral expenses herself. This is a heavy burden for her to bear, and we are reaching out to our community for help during this incredibly hard time.
