I am Hussam Abu Miri, 41 years old. A Palestinian from Gaza. I live and work in Belgium.

Right now we are in need to evacuate my family members in Gaza. My brother, his wife, there 3 children, and my oldest brother are in danger of the war and bombardment.

I am starting this fundraising to save the lives of my family members, I am their only hope to get out of Gaza and cross the border of Rafah.

I am constantly worried about them, I wake up every morning to see the news, trying to call them right away to check if they are still alive, even though it is hard to make any connection as there is hardly electricity or Internet.

I am constantly worried that I will lose my family at any moment. The war is targeting everything, they're struggling right now as the bombardment is almost everywhere.

At the beginning of the war, my family forcefully evacuated from their home to a safe place. We've found out that there is no safe place in the Gaza Strip. Our neighbourhood area has been completly destroyed. As mentioned, currently there is no safe place for them to find shelter. At this moment my family is sharing the tiny space left with a large number of people.

Our house now is very close to the border area of the central region of the Gaza strip. The destruction of the bombardment is everywhere and continues to go on.

I'm worried about my family and the kids, they can't sleep and don't have the basic needs to live. Hearing bombs and explosions scares them so mutch, so they flee from place to place looking for safety.

They can't find any medication and keep getting more sick as they don't have access to health care.

I have a well educated, successful family.

My brother is a radiology graduate and my other brother is an economics graduate.

My family Members are:

Please help me collect THE VISA application fees and travel costs for six people.

In order to facilitate my family's evacuation from Gaza to Egypt and then to Canada where my parents live. I'm setting up a GoFundMe campaign to raise 45.000 €. Here is the breakdown of the funds:

• It is estimated that 4.000 € will be sufficient to cover the basic needs of my family in Egypt, including their accommodation, food, and other essentials (This equals 1.000 € per month).

To cover the expenses associated with obtaining permits to leave Gaza, as well as the crossing fees at RAFAH, at the Egypt-Gaza border, breaks down to 8000€ per Adult (6 people in total, including my two brothers and wife with 3 children, 4000€ per child)

Adults = 8000 €*3 = 24,000 €

Kids = 4000 €*3 = 12.000 €

• Travel expenses from Cairo to Canada is 5,000 € (6 persons)

Total amount of 45,000€

Part of the amount will be used to cover GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% plus $0.25 per donation).

Any donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference to the safety of my family. We'll use the money raised in a transparent and efficient way to make sure every dollar goes to keeping them safe.
