Hi, my name is Jen and I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma stage 2 high risk cancer on 12/02/22. Being the primary source of income it has been a struggle. My employee benefits have helped up to this point getting me through Induction Therapy but now is the hard part. I'm hospitalized for 2 weeks and then will transition to Hope Lodge for a week. My current pay for long term disability and social security disability will only pay 60% of my income. I will need help paying medical bills that continue to stack up along with life's everyday needs. I appreciate anything that anyone can spare even if it just a couple of dollars. I expect to be out of work until January of 2024. It is really important to recover with as little stress as possible. Below is a link that can bring some understanding to this type of cancer. What I have is IGA Lambda with 3 high risk genetic mutations. This means there could be a possibility of drug resistance and or faster progression. My stem cell transplant that I just received will give me 3-4 years before I need another. Overall I am looking at a 55%, survival rate over the next 5 years. It is important to me that I make the best of it for my kids while I can.
