My name is Anne, and I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult times my family has faced. I recently lost my job, and while I’m waiting for unemployment approval, the bills are piling up faster than we can manage. We are good hard-working people, but my husband’s salary just isn’t enough to keep us afloat, and I’m scared of losing our car or having our utilities shut off while I search for a new job. We have two older sons at home—one is in the process of getting disability, and the other is high-functioning autistic. Every day, I’m doing my best to keep our family together and provide the stability they need, but it’s getting harder as the days go by.
The funds raised here would go directly toward our most urgent needs: rent, car payments, utility bills, and food. These essentials will help us keep a roof over our heads, maintain transportation for job interviews and daily life, and ensure our family has enough to eat. I want nothing more than to get back on my feet and support my family on my own, but right now, we just need a little help to get through this trying time.
I would appreciate and be so thankful for any kind of help during this time. I don’t intend for this to be long term—I’ve applied to over 300 jobs in the past 3 months and am still determined, but it’s really scary out there with so many others looking for work. Being older, I feel like I’m getting lost in the crowd and possibly being passed over for younger candidates. I’m too young to retire but considered too old or overqualified. The feeling of desperation is creeping up, and I’m terrified that I can’t help my family and am now resorting to asking for help. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us right now. Thank you for reading and for considering helping my family.
