Hello, my name is Kathleen and I’m raising funds to help keep my household stable and not fall into debt, due to the fact that I was made redundant with extreme short notice and I am scrambling to find new work. I may also potentially have to seek legal advice regarding my dismissal. In short, I’m very stressed, and heartbroken at the fact that 2+ years of hard work and loyalty to a company amounted to nothing. Being thrown out like this into a terrible job market, on top of not being able to have access to unemployment benefits because of my visa status, is additional salt in the wound.

Unfortunately, bills and debts don’t care about that. I can’t risk them getting higher than I can afford them.

My partner luckily has income on their side, but only on part time hours, which isn’t enough to cover our monthly costs of rent and bills. We have two cats we also look after as if they were our own children and I can’t risk them being affected by this as much as we are.

Any funds raised will go entirely towards monthly costs: rent/utilities/groceries/pet bills while I look for another job that can stabilize our situation.
