My name is Sheha Rahman, and I’m a student living in the UK. I’m raising money to support my family and relatives in Sri Lanka who have been severely affected by the recent flooding. With the crisis not only hitting Sri Lanka but Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam this cyclone is receiving very little attention in Western media. I feel it’s important to highlight the urgency and seriousness of what they’re going through, and to share their situation with people who may not be aware of its scale.
Over the past few days, Cyclone Ditwah has devastatingly destroyed homes, livelihoods, and entire communities. My family’s home is one of many that has been severely damaged; they’ve lost essential belongings, important supplies and basic necessities. They are currently trying to stay safe and restore the damage but they urgently need support to recover and rebuild.
I don’t come from a big network, and I know I’m just one person asking for help — but anything you can give will go directly towards:
• Emergency supplies
• Replacing essentials they lost
• Helping repair their damaged home
• Medical needs or transport if the situation gets worse
Even the smallest donation will make a real difference and every little helps. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean a lot to me and my family and would help us reach our goal.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support you can offer.
